Etching is a visceral medium, an evolutionary process. Working with metal, scrapers, powders, dremels, acid, ink and sometimes fire satisfies my need to construct. It keeps me focussed on the process only to be abandoned by chance and surprise. The time and space between your initial idea/image and its metamorphosis can be quite a trip. Thereʼs a balance between control and lack of, the suchness of life.
